What to wear, head to toe
Each piece names the standard it has to carry. Products that don’t carry it are left out, even when the name sounds right.

Two mistakes we see often
Not enough
Safety glasses do not stop splashes
They stop flying particles. Liquid runs around the frame. For chemicals you need sealed goggles.
Wrong filter
A dust mask does nothing for vapour
FFP masks stop particles only. Vapours need a mask with gas filters (EN 14387) for that chemical.

Questions
Which gloves for acids and alkalis?
Gloves tested under EN ISO 374 for that chemical. Nitrile suits oils and many solvents; neoprene and butyl suit many acids and alkalis. Check the letters on the glove against your chemical’s safety data sheet.
Which filter letter do I need?
A for organic vapours such as solvents, B for inorganic gases such as chlorine, E for acid gases, K for ammonia. Combined filters cover more than one.
Can I reuse disposable chemical coveralls?
No. Once it is contaminated or torn, throw it away with the chemical waste.
